DIGITAL LEARNING BLOG
This is the last full week of school! Can you believe it! I sure can't!!! All assignments will be on Seesaw this week. Of course all other resources are still available for students to get their 20 minutes in reading, writing and math. We will release the butterflies on Tuesday, join us on Zoom to watch this!
This week we will celebrate May the 4th and Cinco de Mayo!!!! Happy celebrating!!! We will continue emailing you daily with information for that day's digital learning activities and Zoom meeting details. Activities will focus on comparing/contrasting non-fiction texts and opinion writing. Additional resources are always available to fulfill the required amount of time for each academic subject.
Wow, it's Week 6 of Distance Learning. Hope you had a fabulous weekend! This week we will be focusing on two step word problems (Mrs. Thomson's math groups) and the life cycle of a butterfly! This will be done through Seesaw and Nearpod with a visual representation of the butterfly life cycle as a culminating activity assigned on Thursday to be due next Tuesday. Other resources continue to be available: Istation, RAZ Kids, and Dreambox. Please see daily emails for that day's assignments. Thanks, have a great week!
This week we are focusing on informational writing with our additional activities. This will be done through Seesaw. Of course Istation, Dreambox, RAZ Kids and Spelling City are also available to help fulfill the reading and math requirements for the week. I would love to see more kiddos on RAZ Kids (and Spelling City if they are in my spelling group). Your child can also use the math book that was sent home and materials that they will receive to help with these requirements also.
We hope everyone had a great Spring Break and you are ready to get back into Distance/Digital Learning! This week we will continue with our original websites : Istation, Seesaw, and Dreambox. We will also continue with RAZ Kids and Nearpod. This week we will also add Spelling City. Remember students in second grade are required to work on reading for 20 minutes a day, math 20 minutes a day and writing 20 minutes a day. The above websites can be used to accomplish this as well as using the writing prompt calendar that we emailed out the week before break. Additional assignments will be emailed daily as well as scheduled Zoom meeting times. Have a fabulous week!!!
It’s week 3 of Distance/Digital Learning. This week we will introduce two more digital resources, RAZ Kids (which some of you are already using) and Georgia Studies Weekly. These will be used in addition to Istation, Dreambox, Seesaw and Nearpod. We will have a Zoom meeting on Tuesday. We truly enjoy having that connection with your kiddos and allowing them to stay connected with each other. On Friday we forwarded a choice sheet for those who would prefer to do written work. We will always accept pictures of this work so feedback can be given. Remember next week is Spring Break and no activities will be assigned or required. Please look for our daily emails and have a great week!
Week of March 13, 2020
This first week of digital learning was a lesson in patience! We worked on being able to log onto the following websites: Clever, Istation, Dreambox and Seesaw. We did some great work on these sites. We also had our first virtual meeting via Zoom on Friday! 13 students were able to attend! Hope to see more smiling faces on there next time. To access all links go to the LINKS tab to the left or log onto CLEVER.COM. Thank you families for all your help, support and patience!
